Big corporations get a bad rap. But the stereotypes are not always true.
(Yes, McDonalds does offer packets of seaweed in other parts of the world than the USA.)

I think it is generally understood that MacDonald’s deserves their bad rap. It think your blog buddy Tim the vegetarian could tell you why. Or you could read the book Fast Food Nation or watch the movie SuperSize Me.
Totally agreed. But I was encouraged to find evidence that they did something right.
In Costa Rica McDonald’s sells McPinto, their version of gallo pinto, a rice-and-beans breakfast dish.
That is neat!
What in the heck they eat with the seaweed?
“Would you like to super-size your rice?”
