Looking forward and looking back

Looking at now and the immediate future…

1) On June 13, 2026, our son became a Dr. He walked across the stage to get his PhD. We were and are so proud! Our daughter-in-law finished her residency and is now a fully credentialed medical doctor.

2) Our middle son recently started a new job doing his craft for a software company that focuses on insurance risk management.

3) Our daughter and her husband moved from Dallas to Portland, Oregon. They are starting a new life there.

Of course, we’re very proud of our kids and our son-in-law and daughter-in-law.

Looking back…

When I first started blogging, I posted five days a week! Now I’m down to a few times a year.

I tapered off, since I just don’t have the bandwidth to post very often. And the rewards aren’t as big as they used to be – few people blog anymore, so it’s putting a lot of effort into something a tiny number of humans see.

I never chased numbers with this website. For many years, the experts have said you need to focus on a niche to get traffic from search engines. I never wanted to make this into a money-making thing but rather keep it an artistic expression of myself.

And few people resonate with the interests that make me uniquely me… except you, who are reading this.

  1. I’ve always enjoyed your eye’s view of what surrounds us.
Your family have achieved goals and made lives for themselves. I remember them as the little kids next door. I have fond memories of your family and enjoy seeing the remarkable humans they have become. Sending much love to you all.
